When trout feed on spent spinners they do it with comfort. These dead mayflies will not fly away or move. The rise is slow and easy going, often in an head-and-tail style. Many anglers find it difficult as the fish turns selective during times when hundreds of Spent Spinner’s lies across the surface. To succeed and maybe hook the trout of your life, you will need to observe how the fish moves, were it feeds and make a good presentation. But as important is that you use a good imitation. The fish has alot of time to observe the fly and will not take a poor imitation.
Size: 28 mm / approx 1.1/8 in Hook: J:son SS.DF #10
Imitation of a large sized mayfly in it's spent spinner stage, such as the Green Drake.
We do recommend that you use a J:son Swivel for all your fly fishing and all your flies. However it is necessary to use a J:son Swivel when ever you are fishing with a J:son fly in size 1 or 2.
Please note the number at the end of the fly name is related to the size of fly and not the amount you will receive.
So for example Mayfly Nymph 3 is only one fly and not x3.
